Job Description
Spectrum Healthcare Services, a healthcare staffing agency, is seeking Licensed Vocational Nurses for a facility in Carlsbad, TX.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who need medical, habilitative, and behavioral support.
- Administers medications and treatments.
- Performs technical Nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations.
- Documents and reports pertinent observations.
- Communicates orally and in writing to other team members’ pertinent information.
- Documents according to facility policy.
- Responds to emergency situations to ensure safety of individuals. Follows safety and Infection Control Procedures of facility.
- Monitors individuals for treatments and procedures.
- Collects specimens for laboratory examination and conducts appropriate screening tests (after competency is documented) when requested by lab personnel.
- Provides education to individuals with specific health goals.
- Assists other staff in turning/repositioning individuals to administer treatments.Ensures that supplies are available.
- Manages individuals' medical records in Electronic Health Record or paper chart.

Work Setting: State Supported Living Center
Job Type: Local Contract
Length: 6 month minimum
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: 6a-2:30p or 2p-10:30p/rotating schedule
Weekly Hours: 40
Hourly Rate: $29.00
Job Requirements
- Must have at least 2 yrs experience in nursing in an acute or a LTC facility
- BLS certification through AHA required
- TX license
