Job Summary
The Medical Assistant will manage the patient flow throughout the clinic and assist providers in the management and treatment of patients for both front and back office duties. Patients come from a variety of backgrounds and various age groups requiring individualized care, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The Medical Assistant receives direction and collaborates with the Clinic Supervisor, Clinic Manager, and Providers to meet the defined goals of the patients and organization. Communicates with the health care team related to progress, concerns, questions or problems that arise are an essential element of the Medical Assistant role.
Essential Duties
- Standard rooming processes, giving immunizations, injections, and other medications as directed by the provider.
- Facilitates communication between patients and providers.
- Performs phlebotomy duties and other clinic laboratory tests.
- Assists with prior authorizations and prescription refills.
- Protects patient privacy and only accesses patient-related information as needed to perform job duties.
- Front desk/check-in and provides telephone support.
- Orders and stocks supplies.
Position Details
- Work Setting: Clinic
- Job Type: Direct Hire
- Shift: Mon-Fri, 8:00a-5:00p (Robbinsdale location is 7:00a-5:00p)
- Pay Rate: $20.00-$26.00 hr.
Job Requirements
- Must be Certified to work in MN
- At least 2 yrs of experience in a clinic setting
- BLS through the AHA
